Field Dossier: The Greedle Invasion

§1 · Origin

The creatures known as Greedles are not from here. They come from Planet Overhead — a world that once had oceans of currency, forests of receipts, and mountains of margin. They ate all of it. Every fee, every surcharge, every last decimal. When there was nothing left to skim, their world went dark, and the swarm went looking for a new buffet.

They found one. Third rock from the sun. All-you-can-eat. Estimated swarm population upon arrival: REDACTED. Estimated swarm population today: REDACTED, but bigger.

§2 · The Arrival

There was no crash site. No lights over the desert. First contact was a convenience fee.

Nobody noticed the landing because it was itemized. They slipped into the fine print sometime around REDACTED and have been feeding ever since — quietly, politely, at the bottom of every receipt, in the gap between what you paid and what the worker got.

§3 · Biology & Behavior

• Diet: transactions. A Greedle feeds on the take — the slice of every payment that vanishes before it reaches a human being.
• Reproduction: every fee lays an egg. The eggs nest in receipts. Given warmth (your inattention), they hatch.
• Camouflage: Greedles adapt to local habitat. The Wilmington strain grows barnacles and a captain's cap. The Vegas strain develops slot-machine eyes. Do not be fooled — same species, different costume.
• Known forms: six confirmed — the Fat Cat, the Kraken, the Machine, the Bloodsucker, the Vanisher, the Gremlin. A seventh form, designation REDACTED, has been sighted twice. Both witnesses immediately checked their bank apps.
• Size & rarity: a Greedle grows with what it eats. A 40% take breeds a common pest. A 70% take breeds a Legendary. If you catch a big one, you were robbed big. Condolences and congratulations.

§4 · The Hive

Everything they take flows one direction. Field agents tracking the money confirm a single destination: a swirling collection point on the west coast, designation CALIFORNIA HQ, believed to be operated by REDACTED, REDACTED, and at least one company whose name rhymes with REDACTED. Observed behavior: money enters, nothing returns. The locals call it "quarterly earnings."

§5 · The Weakness

Here is the only thing that matters. Greedles are powerful for one reason: they feed in the dark. They survive on the fact that nobody asks, nobody checks, nobody sees.

This is why the Bureau's protocol is one question long: "How much did YOU get?" Ask your driver. Ask anyone who did the work. The gap between the two numbers is the creature. Log it, and it's caught.

§6 · The Resistance

The Bureau is not a company. It is everyone with a receipt.

• Riders are field agents. Every sighting logged feeds the Invasion Tracker — the live map of where they're feeding hardest.
• Drivers are the witnesses. They've seen the take up close for years. Nobody believed them. We do.
• The Founding 56 — the first 56 agents in each town — hold the line forever, like it's 1776.
• Local shops are safe houses. Money spent there stays fed to the town, not the hive. Keep it local; starve a Greedle.

§7 · Standing Orders

1. Ask the question.  2. Log the sighting.  3. Post the catch — make a billionaire nervous.  4. Spend where it stays.  5. REDACTED UNTIL THE TOWN HITS 56 FOUNDERS. That's the whole war.
